Can i ask what do you guys feed the silver perch over winter?

I chucked in pellets but they dont seem interested just hiding in the back of the tank. I have given them some duckweed but i dont think they have enough to eat.

Also any chance i have lost any silver perch as i have some foam in the tank for the last week or 2?

I just cant see the back of the tank at all

If your water temp is below 15... then the Perch wont eat more than one or twice a week...

Below 12 degrees... maybe once a week....

Stop throwing pellets in if they're not eating them... a lettuce leaf, silver beet or some duckweed ... will be enough... just remove the leaves if they dont get eaten in a day or two...

Make sure there isn't any uneaten feed on the bottom of the tank... the foam/scum worries me...

Yeah me too Rupert. Thats why im trying to get the expansion system up so i can move the GB and check on the SP.

The blue barrel thats connected to the the fish tank has trout in it and they seem to have no issues. They are still feeding like crazy (though my plants dont seem to be growing hmm), but i have cut back on feed just in case. I hope its nothing.....

The foam is caused by Uneaten food.

I am throwing in a small pinch of 2mm pellets but for the catfish as I think they are still eating them but the only thing the silvers will touch is lettuce leaves. A leaf might get eaten over two or three days

Guys, get some earthworms and throw them in with your SPs, they go nuts for 'em, summer or winter !!
