looks like you're cycled..
many fish farms are still open but don't transport because of the heat.. if there is one close enough to drive to check them out.. bring a cooler and an aerator

Well I got fish :thumbright: picked up 30 fingerling tilapia. Tried to take pictures but they are hard to see.
I think the plants are looking good for 2 weeks old.

In St Charles. Where are you planning on getting fish? There are tilapia in house springs for .25 a piece for small, 1 dollar for a few inches long (the size i got). http://dudalangfarms.com/

But if you're planning on getting other fish :) i'd like to know where you find them, the tilapia is all i could find close.

edit:
haha, missed your last post there are 2 pages :). awesome you got fish.

Well there was a big storm last night and we lost power @ about 2:30AM. Broke out the generator about 7AM. Fish seem fine since there is so much water and the fish are small.

Plants are looking kind of sickly. They feel dry and I see some yellowing. My assumption is a lack of nutrients/Nitrates.

Last nights readings:
PH 8.3
Am .05
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0

Is there anyway to feed the plants while waiting on the Nitrates? I have 30 fingerling tilapia in the system since Saturday.

Nitrate of 0 is not necessarily a bad thing - it could mean that your plants are consuming all available nitrates.

Yellowing could be iron deficiency so add of some chelated iron for that and some maxicrop to give the plants a boost.

sounds like you're still cycling, a little maxicrop with iron will help the plants

I doubt I can get Maxicrop, very rural area. I have been adding about two tablespoons of chelated iron per week the lsat two weeks. 1000 liter ft and 1000 liter sump, if that matters.
Is there a like product to Maxicrop?

have you been having as bad heat as we have? 35-36 degrees C (98 i think is what it got up too). Might explain why the other plants aren't doing as well, especially in a greenhouse. Have you put any shade or opened windows or anything in ur greenhouse?

I do have shade clothe over the glazing. My high in the GH has been 103f. It never gets more than 10deg hotter that outdoor temp.

wonder why your ph hasn't started to drop much. Have you checked to be sure that your gravel isn't limestone at all? I looked through mine (which i got from lowes) and it does seem to have some will have to replace it :(.
