Thanks for the heads up TC. I dont have the goat any more but would have probably replaced it with chicken dung or something. I have a bottle of fish emulsion so I'll use that.

Have the water enter below the surface so it doesn't splash the surface,
Have the container be big enough that a small current doesn't move everything.
Have the drain be a SLO or Venturi Drain to keep the duckweed from growing out the overflow.

Add baffles if currents are still too much.

Unfortunately there really isn't a way to flow huge amounts of water through a small container without disturbing it. To make it more calm you need a larger volume of water.

and you probably dont really need to put a lot of water through. Its not as if all your ammonia is going to be pulled out with every pass so just put through what you can without causing troubles.

I've got it mostly still, but need to add a valve to it so that i can get more flow to my growbed .
