Same here, the weather is still warm enough for growth

I have a couple of self seeded ones in the glasshouse

Just sowed my tomatoes and peppers today. Good day by the moon guide and winter solstice only a week away, the time is right. Greenhouse helps

Im thinking bout hooking a tray upto my garage system soonish to get my Tomatoes and Peppers going early does the moon cycle matter indoors?

I told a lie earlier. Came home tonight and found a tomato so we may have fruit from it soon.

You can check what is in season in your area at gardeningaustralia.com.au. And yes tomatoes are in Arid areas.

Quick update for those interested.

The solar part hasn't progressed. Haven't had a great deal of time to spend on the system.

We have been harvesting somethings from it - bok choi, lettuce, celery, baby carrots and turnips. It tastes better when you grow it yourself.

My dog is still jumping up on the beds and has destroyed some of the plants. She is getting better though.

The snow peas should be ready soon.

As I have been leaving before it is really light and getting home when it is dark, I have been feeding fairly early or relying on my better half. When I checked the water in the light on Saturday I noticed it has a green tinge. The tank is always covered, so I guess it has been caused by over feeding (I have been trying to increase the feed rate as I have been underfeeding them).

The beds have been converted from siphons to constant flood now and food will be withheld until it clears up. Hopefully a HSM will be avoided.

We had that same problem with our raised herb beds...solution was a bamboo expandable lattice stretched over the top...the holes are big enough for the plants to grow through, but it stopped the dogs jumping in!!

The trout are going well. I haven't lost any I think. No floaters and no jumpers. Hopefully none of the smaller ones have been eaten by the larger ones.

Peas, Baby Broccoli and Cauliflower are developing.





The Cauliflower is still too small for my camera to focus on and get a good picture.

Those broccoli are ready to eat, if you leave them much longer those little buds will open into flowers. Unfortunately when they get to that stage there will be no increase in size, so wont turn out like shop ones
Usually if broccoli grow long and thin like that they are searching for sunlight or bolting to seed [as its called] and at this time of year that's unlikely.
Another thing with broccoli is when you cut of the main stem other smaller ones will shoot out the sides.
