Ahh, it was only one of the cordless shop phones, we had 3, so now we only have 2.. I figure we don't really need more than 2 at any one time, considering there's only 1 phone line and all.

Tea20, most modern computer infections don't get caught by AV or the specialized tools. Infections just change too fast. Try reformatting your hard drive (and reset the Master Boot Record, if it's a windows machine), and re-installing the operating system.

I used to do computer security at a University (before I quit to do AP) and we've had to stop trying to fix infections. We've adopted the "nuke from orbit, it's the only way to be sure" (i.e. reformat) philosophy.

Because I'm clumsy and absent-minded, I've got a Nokia 3720 mobile. It's waterproof, dustproof and impact-proof, and yellow and black so I can find out where I left it. I've already accidently dropped it in the dog water bowl, and am waiting for the day it will end up in the FT.

Combofix is a good fix all for most infections. Just download it from bleepingcomputer.com to your desktop and run it. If it wont run, boot into safe mode and run it.

OK, here we go again..... :D The forum will be upgraded in the next couple of days at some stage..

Hopefully we will be a lot more successful this time, the software has already been modified and set up locally, it just needs an upload and some tweaking.. I've been told that this will take between 5 minutes and half an hour..

Here's hoping it all runs smoothly this time around.. :thumbright:

Not just something - something good.

Not sure I could handle more then 30 mins away from the forum - without it I may tinker too much with my AP system and then cause problems - but with no AP Forum to search for the solution things will spiral out of control!

half an hour of spiralling might be good for you..... :)

I think this time we have someone with a much better grip on what's going on.. This guy has actually done official mod development and testing for phpBB....

Just have to wait for a suitable time because he's in England..

Just remember EB (and Mr IT Man): there are many AP Systems at stake here - no pressure. LOL

I'll be sleeping through it... (See below) Though knowing me the auto internal alarm clock will go off about 3 in the morning with "you'd better go and check Joel"
