Yeah great isn't it, our bore water has ammonia and very low pH, no wonder it's hard to get decent figures. :?

Now that i've read through all the posts it's time for Silkcom's thoughts :)

Are you guys also going to setup another set of tests that shows all 3 types with 1 fish tank? Seems like there shouldn't be much reason in not just setting up test #2 and run both. Unless there are money issues?

I can't wait now to get home and take off my syphon. Might help my cycling go much faster :) which would be wonderful. Not sure how I would ever turn that thing into a flood and drain now that there's already not a hole in it to drain it :(.

I'd love to see a water usage total summary line :) if possible. I absolutely love the numbers.

Any way to have a semi often table of each plant with just the numbers? I find myself less interested in the pictures and more in just the numbers :). So it should be easy to just have a simple grid of each plant.

And last, awesome :) pure awesome. I love seeing real tests being done (even if they aren't 100% "scientific" who cares) and wish I could do the same.

I think next trial will be something totally different, we're not going to get too hung up on the three different styles after running this big trial. This still has a long way to run anyway, another 6-12 months yet..

We might zip the spreadsheet up and make it available here for people to download and look at or fiddle with, but we won;t be doing that every week, perhaps every three - 6 months or so.

There's been a harvest today of the capsicums and spring onions, spring onions were bloody amazing, absolutely HUGE...

I think we'll be putting these into a big bucket at the counter and offering them to customers who come in the shop.. There's only so many spring onions you can eat.

You can always slice up and dehydrate the surplus for use in soups and stuff later :notworthy:

Would it be possible to get a rehash every so often (reminder) about which system is which?

I drink too much because I talk about dehydrating onions? or because I can't remember which system is which in the trial? :laughing3:

System 1 has a siphon, not an Affnan, just a straight bell siphon.

System 2 has a standpipe, it's running constantly flooded with the pump on all the time and flood level is about 1-2 inches below the surface of the clay.

System 3
has a standpipe and timer and is running as per our standard systems with a 15m on 45 minute off pumping cycle.

Good idea Silkcom.. Here it is on google docs.. But please if you are going to play with it, perhaps make a new tab and copy the data there..
