Just wondering what the chance of BYAP stocking Refractometers as they seem to be a fairly fundamental tool for Aquaponics.
And um sequencing valves.
I dont buy off the internet as I dont have Credit card or Pay pal or whatever. Ok I know that I am behind the times but would be good to have access to these products in the shop. :wave1:

Hey Skipd,

It may have something to do with the fact that for items such as this... most people these days have a propensity to look to eBay and other online stores first... usually because they don't wan't to pay what their local retailer is asking for it... or feel they don't have the time in their busy lives to get to the store... or they just can't be bothered getting their butt to the store.

The fact is that you can buy a refractometer online, usually out of Hong Kong, for about $40 last time I looked... you won't even find a wholesaler in Australia willing to wholesale refractometers to the retailers for anywhere near that price... and then the retailer also has to make his slice, ie: to cover his overheads, staff wages etc... and shock, horror... maybe even make a profit... but the maths just doesn't work!

Yep, we have em.... Can't remember the price off hand but it's about $40 odd... As Mr Damages has pointed out, it's not something we make any money on, just providing them as a service more than anything.. :)

And theirs was on special down from $70 odd.
You need to get all your products up on the website so everyone knows what you have for sale.

Yeah, Our websites have been lacking lately, since Mitch left there's been no one with website capabilities, and I just don;t have the time to put into it... A few people have issues with purchases on the site, I've just got a new guy who will be looking at simplifying the checkout process, and updating things as well..
