Darn been sick for the last few days still havent managed to get a pump.

I think for this system i will just give it to the parents. It will be powered by gold fish/koi and maybe a yabbie or 2 to eat the left overs.

Im estimating that with the window and the top support i have been left with about 140L with roughly 40L to flood the top gb im looking at about 100L in the FT.

I think the gold fish should be safe from the yabbies

Anyone know how many gold fish i need in 100L water to power 100L GB?

Hey Zman,

I reckon 3 decent sized goldies would be sufficient, maybe 8-10cm Shubunkins.

I started my first system with 6 x 8-10cm Shubunkins, it was 270 litres feeding a 1.2m² GB, and the plants powered.

Mr Damage.

Just throwing this out there...
To stop the sides of the drum from bowing could you silicone a bit of Ali C channel facing down along the full length of both sides, so the drum sides sit inside the channel?
I bought 2m of it for $6 not long ago for a project, so cost is low, there wouldnt be any maintenance issues and would keep the growbed clear.

I guess one of the problems is that barrels are different sizes depending on manufacturer. We have about 15 barrels and I reckon there are probably 4 different sizes/styles amongst them.
