Hi
i have been thinking about doing a add on system to one of my systems using the blue barrels cut upright 3/4 high and trying to grow a variety of small tree like plants.( eg banana , red paw paw , custard apple )

Dose anybody have any ideas or experience growing these kinds of plants or know of any others that would grow good in an aquaponic system ?

Got a sickly dwarf blood orange in the big system but nothing much is growing in it at the moment. Will transfer it to the ibc system as it has 500mm deep beds when it has some nutrients in it

Roots are a bit of a problem but not a major issue. If you use three quarters of the drum it will be better .I would sudjest cavendish as the plants are smaller and the bunches are usually bigger .I will be away up north as from Wednesday so i will be unable to help.Check my thread ,Don goes bananas down south.
