Alright, so I've been a little busy working on the system. It has come along pretty well. I have replaced the pump with a better, more appropriate one. I let the system cycle for close to a month. I've planted some tomato and cucumber plants and have some seeds sprouting in the grow beds.

I finally found some tilapia to stock. Nile Tilapia. We picked them up from a fish farm in Arkansas. I put about 75 fish in each of the tanks. Only a few losses so far, I think it was from transport.

So far, so good. Here is some pics:

Nicely done. I look forward to seeing what you do with your system.

What part of OK are you in? I am located by Waldron Ar. That is about 40 miles south of Fort Smith.

Nice system. All off the shelf items, eh?
Can you get a shot of the setup that shows the whole thing? And from different views? We like to see pics.

I'm located in central Oklahoma about 30 miles east of Oklahoma City.

One of my goals was to use as much off-the-shelf items as possible. At least for this first system. I'm hoping to learn the ropes with this system and then build a much bigger one.

I've done a little more work making things look nice, like mulch, etc. I'll get some shots and post them.

Here's some more recent shots. I've redone the sump. I'm trying to convert the plumbing so that it drains straight down (as suggested here).

I have the side panels just tacked up for now. I'm thinking of cutting them in half lengthwise to let more light into the fish barn. Once it turns to fall around here, I plan on covering all of the open space with greenhouse glazing. Until then I'm using a shade cloth to keep it cooler. We have to plan on very hot summers and very cold snaps in the winter.
