Water has finally cleared up

Feed the silvers and could see them which is a bonus. They seem to be a bit "taller" but not really longer :shifty:

It's not uncommon to throw a goldfish or three into stock tanks here to keep the mozzies down. I don't know if the drinking cows and horses stir up the tank enough to add Oxygen, but one horse I've heard of likes to play "flip the goldfish out of the tank by its tail!" :shark:

:laughing3: I need more GB urgently now hehehe.

I rigged up a 200L barrel with the existing SLO opening from the FT. I plumbed through a 50mm pipe and have 50% of the "filtered" water going through that 50mm pipe through a 25mm pipe.

The 25mm pipe goes all the way to the bottom of the 200L FT to create a swirling action. The water at the top goes through the space left in the 50mm pipe and gets pumped back up the the GB.

I will put a picture up soon.

Im in the process of ordering a big FT to hold both the SP and the new trout with a mesh in the middle. Once i get that i will get the 1000L GB online. Just waiting on them from the seller which doesnt post so am organising this via couriers at the moment.

Here are some pics, was kinda forced to take them.

I have a 200L barrel that i plumbed in to my ibc to house the trout till i get my IBCs to expand.

This morning i was playing with the configuration of the return water from GB to IBC FT and blue barrel FT to have more fresh water diverted to the later FT.

This was the original setup that has been working for 4-5 weeks now. Now imagine i put a 90" instead of where the tee was today.
Image

All water was being diverted to blue barrel via 20mm pipe through the 50mm SLO slot i got open.Image

Now after i did this the water rose above the top of the 50mm slo but it stayed there and didnt go any higher for about 30 mins i was there. I had to go and had a feeling i should have put it back.

12 hours later i come back home. I hear water splashing so thought everything was ok.....

I come home to the blue FT over flowing slowly (dribbling water out)Image

I check the main FT and the water was down to maybe 3-4cm of water.Image

Only good thing to come from this is some snaps of my trout lolImageImage

Also here is the GB

No fish were lost and another close call
