Oh to have so much space available. . . :D I'm only on 400 square metres so I am limited as to what I can do, but I can go up as you have suggested in the previous posts! Look forward to seeing the Big Setup.
Cheers

Just remember where Charlie got the Trout from :wave1:

I am a little bit concerned about the way you have the IBC buried, did you put some corrugated iron around the edges? If not, the dirt will eventually collapse the IBC.

How long has the large system been running for now?

Hi OBO,
yea no iron around the IBC.

yea i was reading about that just last week but hopefully it should be ok as the ground in that area was very hard to dig, time will tell i suppose.

the big system has been running for about a 9 months.

and thanks for bringing the trout down. :thumbleft:

Would be interested to know the size of the 5000L watertank and how you cut the top.

Did you cut the top below the lip/bend?

Hi vlt,

the tank diameter is about 2m and the height is about 2.3m

i have cut the tank a bit over 1/2 inch from the edge on the top so as to keep a bit of strength in it, the center where the solar light is starting to dip a bit so i will be putting a piece of pvc pipe in the tank to bring it back up to the correct height.

Another question if I may.

How deep do you have it buried and does the tank have issues with soil pressing in?

Hello

The tank is about 1.7m buried in the ground, no trouble with the sand pressing in on the sides as i made sure i got one with the corrogations for strength.

The trout are doing well no floaters and seem to be happy.
