That's the conclusion I'm coming to ! Post questions but not willing to put anything back for those supplying the answers. Even the most computer inept people are managing to post photos of their system.

I too have been watching this thread with great interest which is now quickly diminishing. Perhaps this is "Mythoponics"?

Guys, I guess I don't fit your idea of what a poster should be - but that's your problem. No photos, but Gemmell (not lately) and RupertofOz (to deliver fish - the last lot of 200 trout I killed within days) have both visited my farm - so maybe it does exist, maybe not?

I am extremely time poor, but when my websites are revamped I will provide a link, or maybe not, which will have photos. Also the AP project (which is but one of many) has morphed to one of more modest proportions that is not what most would consider commercial, but is commercially viable when vertically integrated.

Also very happy for earthbound to delete this thread and anything else I have posted to his site - I really don't care ..............

I guess people get sick of all the 'promises' that pics will follow but never eventuate.

No need to drop the lip Mcfarm, it's pretty common for people to be wanting pictures, especially when people contribute time and effort into a discussion, they just want to see what has come about from it all, to see if things have come to fruition..

Well that got a bit tense in a hurry. Its something I've noted over the last few months is that there appears to be an increasing number of posts where the posts are far from nice and even far from polite.

Remember that we are all volunteers and if you dont want to answer a question dont and if you dont want to post pictures dont but lets all play nice ok.

100% agree with you Stuart.

But it would still be nice to see some pics.

It's nothing new to the last few months Stuart, as a community there are alsorts here and when you get a diverse mix there are going to be different ideas, people passionate about different things and people who disagree..

The whole commercial systems discussions always seems to be a bit of a high tension area, people not wanting to give too much information because it's of a commercial nature. People like me who want to see examples and see things defined, because there are so many people who talk about commercial stuff when quite often it's just not commercial or not at all viable.

Take this one for example, yet another mob offering "commercial aquaponics training". http://www.urbiculturefarms.com/mission-and-events.html

Is it really commercial? Are those styles of systems commercially viable? We've been through that discussion before a few times. It's only a commercially viable operation when most of the labour is free, there's grant assistance, courses, and now it appears that perhaps another aspect of this is having people pay you to build your systems for you. :dontknow:

If you post to a credible forum saying your system is better, cheaper, more viable, whatever, and continually refuse to provide any supporting proof or results, you're showing a very large lack of respect for every other forum member, the owners, and you damage the overall credibility of the forum. All you're doing is self-promotion.

Commercially confidential is fine and I don't believe anybody here has an issues with that, but there's no way it applies to every single aspect of a system. There's certainly a number of people on here that are working on commercial (or semi-commercial) systems (Welsh-Dragon comes to mind) that contribute to this forum and are fully supported by it's members.

Hell, I want to see commercial ventures as being viable - that's why I'm currently studying aquaculture at university, as it's something I would very much like to get into.
