We just bought a new deep cycle battery for our solar system which had been running plugged in for quite a while. Got it back on solar but within 2 days there was low battery alarms screaming.. I discovered someone had changed our pump from a 20W to a 65W and I didn't know, plus the air pump had been left on.

EB have you got some details on your system please, solar wattage, pump size, inverter size, battery bank size and how long it would run without having to be mains charged?

I don't think I have seen a 12VDC time clock as such, but there are plenty of Industrial timers that will do the job, you need one with a recycling function where you set the on and off times independently. Here's a picture of one I made up with a contactor for high power switching. This one is wired for 240VAC but can be connected 12VDC as it has a multi voltage input.

I found that the basic timers that most people use did not work a modified inverter but will work on a pure sine wave inverter.
Kelly's solar system incorporates 2 12v timers

Pretty sure they expensive and only have 8 on/off times.
thing you can get them from ebay??

This is a 12v timer I bought about a year ago, somehow has still kept the time after not being connected for over 9months (must have its own backup), just fished it out of the shed. Unfortunately has no brand on it i can see, but has 8 on/off functions per day.
