So far so good but i see one fatal mistake you should have put tin or something around the cage of the ibc to stop the dirt from pussing the liner in even if you keep it full over time the dirt will push the ibc liner in and destroy it
don't worry just dig it out and do it again
I would love a dollar for everybody who has fallen for the trap

Theory is: within 30 days of throwing something out, you need it.

so im making my slo right.

what is better,
a) run a 50mm pipe on bottom of tank for pickup - thinking this will have a high velocity.

b) run a 90mm pipe same location will obviously have less suction but better at not clogging.

also got my scoria and in the process of washing taking forever mind you.

also got plumbing parts, cheaper than 5 local hardware and plumbing places
i also had trade access still got cheaper online from interstate :)

waiting on some besser blocks then ready to assemble

Go for 90mm SLO. Don't forget to install an over flow back to yiur sump as well (50mm should be fine for overflow). You may not need 90mm SLO now but most systems tend to grow and then you will wish you had put in 90mm.

90mm all the way and then step down to each growbed is the way to go.

Only have a 50mm exit from the tank will more than likely mean you will over flow your tank as the SLO exit won't be able to keep up.

Only problem with larger SLO pipe is water speed slows down for lifting solids, unless you fit a pump to suit your SLO size. But in saying that, I will fit a 90/100mm outlet in my next fish tank and restrict the SLO pipe back to match the pump that i am running at the time for good flow for poop lift. IMHO

I went 50mm SLO in our Chift pist system here, it works ok, it's only supporting the one bed but it's been working a treat so far...

I think we need a :fingerscrossed: smiley.
