Hello to all.

Attached are some photos of our new BYAP system that we installed last weekend.

After some deliberation we went with the 2 bed Entertainer system albeit with a larger tank being the 1500 litre as apposed to the standard 1000 litre, and an additional yabbie tank underneath.

The whole system was relatively easy to install with good instructions for reference.

The tank within a tank (see photos below) is a tempory arrangement till we get a shade structure erected before Summer.

We will be introducing 40 trout to the system this weekend after we pick them up from Pemberton and will post some more photos as the system develops.

Thanks very much to Faye for her patient understanding and answering all our questions prior to our purchase.

Regards

Swamp-y (Brenton & Rachael)

What a great idea for providing shade and protection for your tank, that front section where the corrugations are not level would drive me nuts though, I'm a bit funny like that :wave1:

Neat looking system all up and great to see the young one involved, get some trout, he will love them. Good luck with the cycling, remember gently, gently is the best way don't push the stocking or the feeding until next season and you will be all good.

Hi Burnsy

Now that was a quick reply.

I will sort the tank out and get it level this week end. The old tank was a bit rusted under one side, so needs some additional support.

Certainly won't leave it like that. It would drive me nuts too.

Thanks for the advice with cycling. We will be following the "Golden Rules" as best we can so hopefully we can get it up and running well.

Regards

Swamp-y

G'day, you're just a hop and step away from me. We ran our system (1000L FT and one GB) over the summer without any shading at all. I'm not convinced I need to erect shading if plants are selected appropriately for the season. In addition, it's one job I won't have to do!

Wow....

That looks fantastic... :headbang:

Well done Swamp-y, very neat install, love your work... It's seeing people installing systems like you have there that makes everything worth while for me. Well, certainly brings a smile to my face.. Little bit of thought, and you've added your own touches to turn a boring old system into something beautiful with a twist... :thumbright:

Yep...very well done, a great idea with the old tank. :thumbleft:

I would however split some garden hose or black poly pipe and place it over the cut edges with silicon and wire to stop cutting hands etc

Wonder what the old sheep was thinking. Looks a bit puzzled.

Are you really going to get rid of the tank in a tank? It looks like it will work better than most other systems to me.

I like the tank in tank. Put a little mesh on the old tank and you can grow some vines over it.

Will also help keep leaves from dropping into the water. You have to keep an eye out for some trees as there leaves and sap can be nasty.
