Yikes.... How much nitrates it too much? Seems to be going off the charts and the ammonia is only lowering slowly....

Anything to worry about..
EDIT: Still cant figure if the PH is 8.0 or 7.4

Got plants in there trev? Don't worry abou the rates, just add more plants :) if your fishless cycling stop pissing in the tank now, let ammo rites fall to 0 and then dose it to 1 ppm ammo. If they both fall to 0 overnight then you can add fish :)

A good trick is to hold the card directly on the glass tube...look through the tube/colour and if you can't see a definate colour change on the card (i.e you can see the 7.4, 7.8 and 8.2 colours but not the 8.0 colour) then thats your reading ;).

thanks Gnash. do you mean put the glass on the card and the eye right on the glass? Its only the Ph Im unsure of and Its ok really, theres not much I can do about that anyway.
Things are cycling along good.
Amm seems to have dropped to .25 just going t wait till rites go to 0.0 and dose once more before I add salt then the TROUTSIES.

Heaps of seedlings freo. Might put some established chilli and sage today.
Sorry bout the million pics of vials and inane data I have here its for my own record in case I have to pack up the kit some day and recycle.

 System is cycled all readings are back to 0.0 plants are growing furiously.
Its fish time but I've got a trip to NZ on Tuesday and I come back on the 15th into 12 hour working days for 2 weeks I'm thinking maybe pick up some fish on Monday. and have my house mate keep an eye on the system for me, or maybe that's just impatient. Does anybody know where to get trout and silvers from in Perth is there any left?

Nice. I would get some more pipe bits in there as hides for the maron.
You will need pellet feed for the silvers as they wont eat much vegetable matter at that size. You can throw some lettuce leaves in the tank and they might nibble on them.

thanks mate. golden ponds in baldivis 2.90 and 3.00 each but they're pretty small. the marron was way to expensive but there was no smaller size $45 per kg I think :upset: I should be able to get them really cheap in about a months time when I go down south Ill be grabbing a few more and maybe some trout. Get cycling ASAP man you wont regret it it seems to take about 6 weeks.
