My 1st system is a single IBC system and raised 30 trout to around 300 - 400 grams.
All still running but have come across a few problems with its design.
Temperature fluctuations are far greater.
Fish waste is a fairly big problem.
Need a step ladder to harvest produce and access to FT is a little restricted.
These are just a few issues that I tried to improve for my second system.
More then happy for you to use what I have posted on BYAP

regards

Matt

I have a system with an IBC fish tank, overflowing to a 1/2 barrel (cut the Ozzy way) on blocks, loop siphoning into a 1/2 barrel sump. The fish tank is obviously WAY oversized, and it's as as ugly as sin, but it's a quick cheap system to set up.

Yep.... Been working hard on it this week and man it's taking a while.. Tried to hire someone to extract the data from the forum but they ended up being pretty useless so in the end it went back to that old saying. If you want a job done properly you have to do it yourself.

We've done almost 40 pages so far and I reckon we are about 1/3 of the way through it perhaps.. :shifty:

A lot of work involved, but it's coming up nicely so far. I'll try and post up a few sample pages in a little while, looks like we are having issues with one of our computers here at the moment..

Just a bit of a hijack here, but you guys that have buried ibc's as sumps, do you put the cage in the hole with the base, or remove the base and let the ibc sit on the dirt ?

Either way u won't have a cage in a few years.....

There only 1.2 gal and usually have some corrosion..... if ya hole is pretty good for size and its stable is go without.......

If ya gonna bury the cage go get some killrust epoxy enamel and give it a few coats.

I buried my cage without a base, pulled the cage out three years later and it's still good so far, was a good one to begin with though.

here are my two ibc tank systems.
system one has been up and runnin over a year now, system two has been running for a couple of months. i had more GB but a table collapsed, got to figure out a new method of building tables.. i have an earth bed table in mind, which will incorporate mushrooms, dirt growbeds, and AP GB.

Checked the vids out. Nice going. You talk funny, but apart from that I could make it out allright!

One thing that was not clear: your one system had some NFT pipes going. Are they the drains from your GBs?
