Did you actually "upload".... using the "browse" & "add file"....

Or did you just embed them using the [Img] codes....

well i know where my ammonia reading came from now, noticed today that the bell siphon wasnt 'firing' and then thinking back relaised i hadnt heard it fire for quite a while. hmmmm

lifted the bell off, nothing strange there, but the pump wouldnt pump the water up n over the standpipe HMMMMMMMMMM can you guess?

checked the pump, alls fine there, bit of poo in the grill. thenr ealised that was the wrong pump

checked the right pump, full of poo, clogged to biggerry with . .. . . wait for it . . . . . a baby trout :upset:
the grill has fallen off and the trout was sicked into the impellor. my god did it stink too :pukeleft: :pukeright: so not only dod i have a stinky ammonia producing trout but also it was clogging the pipe and filtration was reduced!

turns out the knob that controlls flow had fallen out too, and i cant for the life of me find it so im going to have to make a pump grill too now :support: the fun never ends

the remaining 29 still smashed the feed this Am so didnt bother doing any water tests.

Today's lesson: 40mm pressure pipe and 40mm normal pipe are 2 different sizes, that mistake cost me 30 bucks, because I didn't take a receipt :upset:

so after 'fixing' some dodgy pipework (that didnt leak) yeasterday (see above post) woke up this am to about 200L missing from the FT  :?

turns out my 'repair' had started up an old leak, and water was quite literally pouring out of the big gb drain fitting

so, driained the bed, cut the drain pipe and took all the drain fittings out (bear in mind this is under about 1 tonne of peagravel, and of course i couldnt fit my hand down the 0.5m of 90mm drain gaurd, so had to do all of it with sticks and screw drivers, i now know what its like to be a gynocologist )

put 2 new o rigns on the pipe. tightenes it back up to buggery, and now it only drips everynow and then. i can live with that i think, hopefully some slime will block it. lesson learnt this weekend:

if it aint broke dont fix it
