pemberton had about 30 trout left... bit far for that, and nagle has maybe ~50 silvers, waiting to hear back!

Sounds like many people who are still procrastinating on the fish to stock or starting an AP system this winter, will be running their AP system with mostly goldfishes.

Your probably right there Ivan as its unfortunate that the huge fish losses at the private pemberton trout hatchery have coincided with a shocking spawning season for the Silvers. Hopefully Freo TAFE do ok with the Barra spawning runs or the current fish shortage may be with us for the whole year!

No, they had a crap season too - but they brought in a massive number of larvae from over east and they're doing well. But I think most of those are to fulfill a contract, not sure.

Ya just have to know how to ask guys  Just spoke with them after leaving a message yesterday on 9776 1044 and they still do have some. They can bag 30 at a time with oxygen and ice which will transport for around 5 hours, Pemberton is a nice place around Easter. They are open Mon- Fri and you can order thrm and arrange pickup, hope this helps.

Faye I think Matt is after 300 and at the moment Pemberton will only sell fish for orders less than about 100. If we dont get any rain in the next few months they may have heaps to sell as its no use stocking empty dams and dried up rivers with fish!

I can get some trout at Dumbleyung but I don't know how many he has .It is a fair way from Perth but it can be done. You can buy a air pump at Golden ponds and Hydroponics Express for around $15,they take two torch batteries and I have got 14 hours out of a set of batteries.Just put the fish in a broccoli box (foam) with a airstone and they travel well.If you were worried for that money you could buy two pumps.

Can i put in a trout order for next year troutman? i didnt know there would be this much hassle! lol.

I was chasing about 100 - 130 rainbows, pemberton said they could only do 30. I ended up getting a call back from golden ponds and will take their last ~50 - 70 from them, and i'll buffer the rest of the numbers with silver perch from carey nagle, cheers for that Earthbound.

Have people had much success with marron in IBC's? (no fish) what sort of stocking density and did you use alot of hides / shadecloth / pvc pipe / shelter for them etc?
