Hey guys :D

I know I've said this before a number of times, but finally tomorrow we'll get my buddies system up and running! Just dealing with last minute leaks now, all else is up and ready to go.

All looks well in my AP, again today it withstood a power outage lasting 3ish hours, and the sponge gourd is forming a wonderful curtain in front of the FT.

Gave the bath tub elbow another coat of depoxy, was still a slow leak, should finally get that up and going in the morning as well.

BUT, most exciting :headbang: I dug up around the siphon, and found layers upon layers of roots! thick as a thick carpet! Was compelled to make a video which I am uploading as I type and will put up soon. Fun stuff to look at, the roots had formed a perfect cylinder all along the siphon cover.

Got another layer of depoxy on the elbow below the tub, quite a thick layer there now, but I think almost beat the leak, finally. All else looks well.

Finally got buddies AP up and running  I have some video, but will only put up the one I make tomorrow in proper light with all the modifications I made to it, I think, I may be wrong, but its a very unique barrelponics setup, unlike any I have seen so far. Pretty much just the standard barrel ponic design, except the barrelponics FT becomes the ST, and the flooding tank becomes the FT, and there is a PVC loop siphon sort of thingy on it, which has been 'Affnanized'. You guys will have to look at it and tell me if it is actually a unique design and whether or not I can name it and claim credit :headbang: Tomorrow night I'll have a video of it running, in action, and with fish!

Ah so, put another layer on the tub, still leaking I think, will wait till tomorrow and put on another coat once the water drys, then start it up. All looks well on the AP front. Topped up the pond and the AP, also put a capful of seaweed extract into the AP. Trimmed off the dead leaves in the AP too. Fruit is getting set on the longmelons AND the sponge gourds, awesome.

Heading over to buddies place now with seeds and to take him to buy fish. Will upload his video tonight, and my update from today which I uploading as I type.

Thanks you guys. I learnt from the best. I'm loving this new open source world, web 2.0 rocks :headbang:

I haven't been up to my AP setup as yet today, will just go and hopefully get the tub sealed properly, finally, but I have something to show you guys :D

Have a look see and tell me if its a unique enough setup for me to name.

Congratulations!

Abdul!

I must say you are a very pleasant commentator. If aquaponics were sports, you'd be the host of the show for sure!

:laughing3:

Keep it up, I hope to join you in starting an aquaponics system just like that one here in my living room! Yes, in my living room! I don't have a camera, but I will move my computer into the living room in the future when I get that set up going, and I will have a web cam!

Thanks again for the videos.

:thumbleft: :thumbright:

Your friend,

Jeff C

Thanks Freo :D it wasn't a party, but a passionate game of cricket taking place on the street in front of us, was too excited about the AP at the time or would have gotten a shot of that too.

Thank you Jeff, its my narcissism being fed in this manner that keeps me posting videos into the wee hours of the night :brilsmurf:

Living room AP sounds amazing! Wish I had reliable enough electricity to grow indoors. ANyhew a webcam is much better than a camera! You can set it up in time delay, or watch your system remotely from far away. I've got to try and buy a cheap old laptop and setup a webcam on my roof.

Speaking of which, all was fine up there today, noticed how big and golden my goldies in the original AP have gotten. Sponge gourd and longmelon fruits coming along, trained the vines some more, topped up the AP. All in all a good day for AP.

Woah had quite a productive day today!

Spent a good while with the gardener, changed up water in both the aquariums, made some basil cuttings out of the AP and this time am keeping them in my room, dried the bathtub GB so can finally fix the leak. Then I spent some time with my nephews, showing them the fish.

Then I made that seaweed extract from the seaweed I got ages ago! First I had it rinsed, then I dipped it in boiling water, now it in a barrel with an airstone and some sugar solution, will get another air stone tomorrow and more sugar solution in a week. I think about 4 weeks all of it should be decomposed as well as I forgot to mention I also sent it through a blender  I made video, it will be up soon.

Then I went to act in a friends music video, helped buy and prepare props too, after which I partied like a rock star with some rock stars :D We did this Sunday night too, and I had video of the Beatlemania as I promised but sadly the boys PC ate the files, damn virus infected whore.

And lastly it was reported that my Buddies AP, which you can see just a few posts above, already has its first sprouts! I'm not sure what it is but I'll get you guys info soon, what an exciting!!!
