oh tank temp has dropped, was 17.6 this AM @ 730 when i woke up, was 20 last night after cooling all day slowly. once its cold, it will take a run of a few days to warm it back up.

i siphoned all the crap out the bottom too. bit of uneaten food etc. gues the yabbies do help keep it nice n clean :dontknow:

Yep - got some nice size SPs to harvest soon then there'll be room for 100 trout in the main FT and the remaining SPs in a couple of the 1000L tanks hooked into the system.

... Im curious about the smoked fish thing as Ive never tried anything smoked...except 'triple smoked leg ham' from the S/market :wink:
Is it done for the taste, or the keeping qualities of the meat? Does it make the fish taste better than when pan fried?

Google it and you will find heaps of recipies and ways to build a smoker, I plan to use my weber to do it :D

It depends on the type of wood shavings (or even pellets) that you use for your smoke.

Trial and error will eventually lead to your fave's....I tried a Jack Daniels type of pellet in my brothers smoker and it tasted like arse....or (more to the point) what I'd imagine arse to taste like :think:
