I was just thinking...I live in a tourist area.

We usually get about 4 to 5 million tourists per year.

I currently live 1/2 block from the Ocean. And I work at a hotel less than 1/2 block from my house...I could walk to work, but I don't. :-P

Anyways, I was just thinking that we don't have an Aquarium in this county anymore, and this would be a great way to 'feature' organic sustainable fish and vegetable farming.

Fish tank, Grow beds, Geodome greenhouse, and composting with worms and grubs. And of course, a few more projects to draw the crowds.

We could open a small location in downtown Ocean Shores, and allow people to tour for a small fee, say $2 per adult and $1 per child.

I suppose this would be the place to ask: anybody wanna invest? I have $1000.

Even if not, maybe someone will use the idea in their hometown. I can see TLC Lnyx from Florida doing that....and they would probably make some good money.

let me know what you all think,

jeff c

OOPS!

I may have breached a rule or two on the solicitation...it was not a serious inquiry, just a general question.

Any moderators that wish to delete that sentence/question, may do so...I was not seriously looking for investors.

Sorry, just a newbie with too much excitement to change the world, one aquaponic pond at a time.

later all,

jeff c

If I had $1 per person that had visited my AP systems over the years, I would have at least $250 lol.

I am toying with the idea of a sort of 'pick your own' style of AP garden.

I think I need a lot more growing area though.

I know what you mean about needing more growing area. You put your system together and after a while go "I wish I had another growbed" or "my beds are full, where am I going to put the peas?"

U-pick AP... Might work...

Hey Ocean Jeff :wave1:
Nothing wrong with wanting to change the world :headbang:
Hope you can get it going one day... the more places educating people about sustainability the better I reckon :thumbright:

Would love to do something Touristy eventually here too... we are right on a highway so have pretty good traffic flow. Have been thinking over ideas for different displays the last few years - including the idea OBO has for a Pick Your Own set-up... reckon its a cool idea - have been warned about some downsides with that idea tho compared to picking it yourself and selling the produce - there will always be an idiot or two that pulls out plants or trashes them by accident or on purpose... but I reckon its still got merit.
