I am having forum problems. It seems I need to completely clear my cache each time I want to post something. Any ideas anyone?

My pH has spiraled out of control. On both systems readings are 9.5. Then I tested the rainwater tank water and that was totally off the chart alkaline. The greenhouse system is all plastic so it is not necessarily from the cement in the big system. I think it may be windswept agricultural lime landing up in the systems and on the roof that supplies the rainwater tank. I can't see how else the rainwater tank could have got so alkaline. Any merit in this theory? They do do some serious liming around the wheat fields upwind of my place. Once I drove down to cape town and the air was thick with the stuff on a particularly windy day. I did a fairly extensive water change and got it back down to 8 again so we will see. :?

Hi Brian, which operating system are you running and what web browser? My suggestion if you are in Vista using IE is to run IE without Add-ons and see if this helps.

You can easily do this by going to the Start menu, choosing all programs then click on the Accessories folder. Once there go into the System Tools folder and click on "Internet Explorer (no Add-Ons)". If this works then probably one of the add-ons is the culprit. Hope this helps.

Hi Scotty. No the fix did not work sadly. I am posting this from my blackberry. I feel like this is something to do with the forum. Or the connection in africa or something. I have tried numerous browsers and modems and oprerating systems and they all fail. Sometimes it allows me to post one or two posts but then it logs me off. If I log in again I can but as soon as I hit the post button it goes back to the login page and says I need to be logged in to perform this action

Hi Brian,

If you're getting the same thing on your Blackberry, do both use the same Internet Service Provider? Does this only happen here at this site or does the same thing happen when you try to post to other sites? Last of all, try writing your post in a word processor app and cut and paste it in - might help you get more posts to go (it sort of sounds like you are disconnected before you press the button even though when you press it is when you find out you're disconnected).

What kind of a connection do you have? There is a disconnect if idle setting for dial-up connections that could be causing something like this.

Don't seem to be having any troubles posting so it must be the service provider or location.
