I wonder if you are allowed to use smoke in a total fire ban. I have aphids already only planted two weeks ago!! I have lots of ants too, I figure if i get rid of the ants, because they farm the aphids for their food, then maybe the aphids will nick off too. I put talc around the feet of the grow beds. dam being allergic to talc though now I have a rash!! I get a bit nervous about making smoke after this time when I just moved into my house and I had stacked all the moving boxes up aginst the house and later the bees made a multi storey mansion out of them so I thought I would just burn a bit of news paper to smoke them out, well the wind blew the fire into the mansion wich was extreemly close to the gas hot water system and poof the mansion was on fire and several hundred really pissed off bees flew at me. so then I got the hose and flooded their mansion wich is now a pill of mush I think I got stung like 20 times and have a life time of bad karma for killing so many bees

i've heard of the old farmers saying that tobacco juice will kill alot of the white flies, aphids and stuff like that off. use it the same way your using your bong water spray. I imagine it is less harm in making bong water spray than nicotine spray.

I also just read in a book, this guy put cig butts in a cup of water and used the tea from it, but i can see alot of people freaking out over that. I dont see the difference in soaking your old cigar butts, or the clipping. For those of us that enjoy cigars, or bongs. :thumbleft: :shifty:

Be careful with tobacco around tomatoes, as it can spread tobacco mosaic virus to the plants. Smoke should be fine.

I second jdphish on this. I have heard that tobacco growers don't allow field workers to smoke tobacco to prevent the spread of TMV. Tomatoes are susceptable so tobacco products are not a good idea in this case. Then again, if you get more enjoyment from the tobacco and the bugs are going to eat all the tomatoes otherwise, what the heck. :headbang:
