You are welcome to use any of the pictures I have posted - or I could try and get some better ones for you. Two IBC with tops cut off and flipped over for GBs. All propped up on concrete blocks to achieve an easy CHIFT PIST. Very little plumbing involved...just a few pieces of PVC.

I have a youtube video up of cutting the top off and IBC....it seems to get quite a few more hits then my other vids. Who would have guessed.

After checking out Gnashs new set-up, its probably a better modification for stand-alone than ours EB... Drainage from the bottom tank is a definite plus.

Just checked out your 'Deluxe' DIY IBC in the BYAP mag IanK... tis a thing of beauty

IanK what does the wheels sit/roll on? Is it just a piece of wood on top of the cut IBC section?

Also what supports the GB once its been rolled out all the way to the back?

As Gnashy posted, have a look at the thread for detailed descriptions. This page (down at the bottom) shows the duragal angle castor tracks and the anti-lift brackets to prevent toppling.

The system is fully functional now, out in the open garden with 20 Jade Perch and 6 goldfish supplying the nutrients.

Is there a time frame on this?

Hi EB Only just read this as i haven't been on-line for a while, if it's not too late you are welcome to use any information and photos that I've posted. If you need any further info let me know.

Dunno about a time frame.. We are working on it right now and it's becoming a little bigger than Ben Hur. I've decided to go about it in a bit of a different way.

We have been searching the forum for all IBC systems that have a few pictures posted and a little bit of detail. We've made a big list of all these systems, I think we have about 80 different systems so far that incorporate IBC's in one form or another. For the last two days I've been getting all the pictures from these threads while others have been reading through getting a basic description of how the individual systems have been set up and/or is operating.

Next I'll send a PM to all those members responsible for those systems we've found, requesting permission to use the pics and info. If people prefer not to have them in there we will remove their stuff, otherwise, well, it's going to end up being pretty big I think.....

I'm about to embark on the aquaponics journey for the very first time using an IBC for a fishtank.
My plan is below:

yellow= 2 bathtub growbeds placed perpendicular to the back fence
white= PVC pipes as strawberry towers. These will lie approx 30 degree angle back down to the IBC fishtank
green= IBC fishtank half buried



I'm more than happy to be used/abused/guinea-pig

EB, I know what you just mentioned, but couldn't help blowing my own trumpet, so feel free to add mine in if its not already on ya list. Only thing I would point out with the timbers I used as supports is to use non treated timber like red gum sleepers or similar. That was one mistake I made on the second tank and then took alot of effort to remove the treated timber and replace it.
The lack of depth in the GB by cutting 700ltFT:300ltGB out of 1000lt IBC also I minor concern.
