If temp fluctuations are a problem, I have been extremely lucky so far. My temps drop 2 or 3 degrees overnight unless the weather is really warm. I feel that it is only a matter of time before I experience some of the issues you are having. Just hoping my luck hangs in there

I`ll still go with heating them up.You have nothing to lose by the looks of that.
If you had the time you could go half/half eg salt/heating and find which is best.

2 or 3 over night should be fine. Damned melbourne weather saw temps go from 28C to about 12C in less than 24hrs

on a funny note: Reets nearly just stabbed me when she looked at those pictures and realised the that they were lying on one of our oven trays

monya, and that was IBC temps, ambient went from around 31C to 10C

Reets, just bil some water and wipe with a cloth before your next baking day, should be sweeeet

This is the first year in hitory I have wanted the weather to be hot, and it is being stupid as. One day 36 next 22 and cloudy. I just want it to be 35 every day, I would be much happier.

Would it be worth sticking a heater in the tank all the time.(if you dont already)
The added benifit would be that when the temp drops, it will go gradually not at a fast rate.Giving the fish time to adjust.
