Mabey take the aquarium to mates place to look after.2 added benifits are 1)your mate will look after them well as he doesn`t want your fish to die
2) if they do die he will get the guilts and replace them for you

If temp fluctuations are a problem, I have been extremely lucky so far. My temps drop 2 or 3 degrees overnight unless the weather is really warm. I feel that it is only a matter of time before I experience some of the issues you are having. Just hoping my luck hangs in there

I`ll still go with heating them up.You have nothing to lose by the looks of that.
If you had the time you could go half/half eg salt/heating and find which is best.
(another taking it for the team)

on a funny note: Reets nearly just stabbed me when she looked at those pictures and realised the that they were lying on one of our oven trays

Can you guys re-assure her that boiling water fixes everything (if it doesn't just lie to her)

This is the first year in hitory I have wanted the weather to be hot, and it is being stupid as. One day 36 next 22 and cloudy. I just want it to be 35 every day, I would be much happier.

Would it be worth sticking a heater in the tank all the time.(if you dont already)
The added benifit would be that when the temp drops, it will go gradually not at a fast rate.Giving the fish time to adjust.
