Today I have completed my first system (Photos attached).

It is in my garage by necessity, there is a lot of snow here right now.

Most of the space is taken by my sailboat but I have figured a way to sneak an AP system in there.

I have put a 1 metre rule on top of the grow bed to give you an idea of the scale.

I am using a 220 l blue barrel for pond, a small 110v pump (I am located in Canada) and a Rubermaid bucket which I estimate at 60 l. I plan to add another 60 l grow bed later in the experiment. I am using a Simmo type auto-siphon. It works but not reliably yet.

I am using rocks which I have collected from my backyard.

I am using the grow bed bucket cover to make a shallow low flow pool that I will use to grow fish food (maybe duck weed).

I reduce the waterflow to the grow beds by rerouting water back to the barrel with a T connector. I adjust the flow with a valve.

I will let that system run a few days to see how reliable it is and then I will stop it because I have to go on a business trip soon.

The next step is to find a way to autofeed my future golden fish.

The ultimate goal is to get a constent maximum amount of spinach for that space.

alternately, use the chainsaw, cut open the top of the boat, fill it with gravel and you've got another growbed!

It's a boat water proof fill it with water and put the fish in it.
