Nothing wrong with taking a photo of a good tool, I had a mate who was a plumber, he had a favourite spade that he even took into parties, coz he didn't want to leave it on the ute.

must have been some spade!

We have all the "ponds in place now, full of wate (so that they can settle into place) - after a day or 2 I will pop 2 or 3 guppies or sword tails into each pond to keep mozzies from breeding)... It was too dark to take a decient photo of the current progress... I need to get the plumbing pipes now before I can start the rock work, so there will be little progress from now till about the 28th or 29th... have to wait for the right shops to open again

Didn't cut through any pipes this time with the freshly sharpened mattock?

Nope, this time I checked the ENTIRE area for possible signs of pipes or wires! I soon discovered that we were digging into virgin soil - the #@$@%^!!! stuff was near rock hard and you could see how it ha\d been laid down over the MANY years in layers - was rather interesting.

we are now playing around with the rocks we have collected to date... we did some land scaping first so as to get a better idea of where we are going...

At the moment we are sorting the rocks so as to hopefully make the building a little easier! (which is why there are so many rocks ALL over the place!!!
Each pond is still full of water to help in the setteling of the soil around each pond (if you fill them while they are empty they cave inwards and lose their shape) I foud this out with the middle pond (we had to shove planks cut to size in to push the walls out again - when I fill the middle pond with stones (this will be my filter section) it will stop the wall from caveing in.

Each pond currently has 2 guppies in it to prevent the breeding of mozzies - if they last (the fish) they will be harvested and returned as permanent residents when the pond's water has been replaced with clean water and the water has been aged by a few days...

I have lots of plants ready as well as a load of mulch... I still have to purchase the plumbing and the sand/stone / cement to build it with, as well as a slatted bench and the wood to make a bridge over the 'middle pond/filter' section, as well as some pond liner which will be used to help connect the ponds together.
