There has been really poor weather for Solar Generation here in Mitcham for past 3 days - only produced 9kWh - with only 1.2kWh going back to Grid.
Tues 4kWh - 0.8 to Grid
Wed 3kWh - 0.4 to Grid
Thurs 2kWh - 0.1 to Grid
Bring on some sunshine!!!
Regards - ColinW

Just received an account today that covers a period of 96 days - with Solar input for this complete period. Whilst the account does not show a "start and finish meter reading" - the total billed matches fairly accurately to the Smart Meter readings I have maintained over this period.
The account shows that there was a price increase on 1st Jan 2011 (17.61c up to 19.09c).
Over the 96 days - Usage was 859.683kWh (26 days charged at 17.61c and 70 days billed at 19.09c).
$160.86 plus supply charges of $65.92 = $226.78
Solar Exported - 331.613kWh @ 68c - credited $225.50
GST charged $22.68
Total of this bill is $23.96

With Solar our "average daily use" is now 8.8kWh - previous 14.2kWh

I read my own meter and the bill hasn't arrived yet, but with a 2kW solar system we used 236kWh, exported 454kWh, with a net account of -$235 (approx). Not quite ready to retire and live off the profits, but much better than paying the power company.
My daily usage before solar was 7kWh, now 4kWh (used after dark).
I'm leaving the account in credit because in winter we will only just make 7kWh. I assume somebody "official" will have to read the meter before I get any money in my hot little hand.
(Yes, I am anal enough to record my meter readings, in case the paperwork gets "lost").

My 3.18Kw system goes in on 1 June, I would like to know if anyone in Qld has one of these "Smart Meters" working on their system. The one that covers all the different tariffs, and charges different rates for different times of the day. Not the "Climate Smart Meter" which you can watch it jump off the scale when you turn on the electric jug.

Was thinking will be great to run the FT heating during the night at around ~ $0.06/Hr instead of 24/7. Also run the pumps at the cheapest time of the day (within reason).

So if anyone has info would be appreciated.

So far the meters running backwards most of the day even with 3 fridges a TV and computer.
Should get the smart meter in a few weeks
and getting a quote for Solar Water tomorrow

trying to get it all done before the rebates cut back

Got my first bill with a full 3 months of Solar PV and 1 month of Solar Hot water

$107 down from an average of $300 a quarter.

My power bill was reduced significantly, but it is hard to compare because our power prices over here seem to increase every 6 months!
My last bill we generated very little and used alot!
But I have a shed FULL of fish tanks, so the cold weather means more heating etc...

I am thinking of adding another 12 panels to my existing 12 to give me 4.5kw of panels, that should make a difference...

Are you on the 47c rebate? Apparently if you add another inverter or change the existing one you lose that back to 7c.
You can add more to an existing one without issues and not affect the 10 year contract.

Just been researching it myself as was going to add a system to the shed

Yep, I am on the 47c rebate.
I am still giggling at the thought of all the people that told me they were going to wait till install prices dropped!
I am not planning on adding or changing the inverter, simply adding more panels.
However the price some companies are charging is a bit of a joke really, no wonder they are starting to close down...
