Thanks for the tips. Might be a food issue.
I think they will have to try some more fish.
Might get them to try a different way of feeding to see if that helps.

Happy New Year to you all.

I have been absolutely amased at how good my plants are growing since bringing down the PH. I am managing to keep it at about 6.8 and things are going crazy.

I have Water Melons, Cucumber, Zucchini, tomatoes, strawberries, basil, Parsley and Broccoli all going great at the moment. I now have a space for some lettuce which I hope to put in on the weekend. I haven't had much luch with lettuce so I will see how it goes with the PH sorted out.

Has anyone had any problems with the humidity in perth lately. I have problems with
powdery mildew at the moment. Not to mention catipilers.
Is anyone else having problems and does anyone have any good tips to overcome the
humidity issues.

Thanks Faye, I will get onto it with the eco rose, I am already at the catipilers with the dipel. Unfortunately the photo's were before the powdery mildew hit. Not looking so good now. Anyway I will try the eco rose and see if it picks up.

Had a minor HSM tonight. Went out the back after work to find no water pumping.
Luckily air pumps were still running. Not sure how long it hadn't pumped for but drains looked pretty dry. Took out the pump and tried different things but no good. Checked all the trip switches on the power box, all good. Couldn't work out what was wrong.
Turned out to be a power board I was running had carked it. About 45mins checking pumps etc to find out the power board failed. Not happy. At the end of the day it is all good because no fish or plants suffered.

I will be needing to move my aquaponics system in the next few weeks.
Moving house. Does anyone have any good suggestions on how to go about it.
Would be nice to have a new system setup at new house and just transfer fish but this is unfortunately not going to happen.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I was hoping there maybe some way of moving things without losing all the bacteria etc but I think I will just have to start from scratch and find somewhere for the fish to live until it is cycled again.

Move and setup one grow bed.... then move the tank and fish... connect... don't feed fish for two days...

Then move the other grow beds.... if you keep the media damp... the bacteria will survive.. and recycle rapidly....

Excellent.
I will do that. The only problem is my growbed stand hold both beds.

Well what a day it has been today.
Settlement on our new house has gone through and now it is time to move the system.

I got very lucky today and managed to get hold of a 3000ltr tank a 1000ltr sump and a
3rd growbed.

Now moving the system is going to be alot easier.

I will now be setting up the 3000ltr tank and a single grow bed in the new house.
I will take half of the rocks out of one of the existing beds and filling the rest with new
clay. I will also move some of the water from the old system to aid in cycling.
Once I am happy with the water quality I will move my Koi and Goldfish into the new system and add another grow bed. After a few more weeks I will add the Silvers and the third growbed. I will also be connecting my original IBC's to the system eventually so I can have either some fingerlings or maybe some yabbies etc.

This will be the last post on this thread, I am going to start a new one for the new larger system. I will have some photo's of the new area tomorrow and then progress photo's
from there.
