This is my First install as a BYAP Distributer.

A Courtyard system installed at our local nursery inside the shade house section.

It has been planted out with some Merrigolds, Silverbeet, Chard, MintBasil, Brocoli, Cauliflower, Brussel Sprouts and Beetroot.

The system is cycling well with some warmer weather and the use of tankwater. It is now home to 25 Silver Perch ranging from 30mm - 90mm very light feeding and some duckweed available all the time.

The mesh lidis hinged and is lockable, preventing children and unwanted predators getting into it. The lid is made using 25mm mesh and rolled RHS. The reason for 25mm mesh is to stop trout jumping out as i will be removing the silvers and putting 20 Trout in there in the not too far future.

Here are some photos.

Lid is made from Rolled Rectangular Hollow Section (RHS) its just 25x25 Steel Tube. I then get it Rolled by a Rolling mill to the desired Size, i then have a Jig made up that it sits in and i put the cross sections in, mesh the top and then cut it to make the hinged part. it is then Bolted too the fishtank, and the front section hinges open and closed. i then have a Lockable Pin that is attached too the fishtank and a padlock can be attached to make it secure.

A lot of time and work go's into making one, however it gives you the piece of mind knowing its secure from predators, Children, and trout jumping out.

They look nice Jamey... :thumbright:

The lids aren't an easy thing, and I imagine that yours was even harder to do than ours as ours have the larger mesh.

I was shocked when our steel fabricator told me the price of them, but then he went through explaining exactly what he had to do to make them, not easy...

Yeah, I am my steel fabricator and it blows me away how many hours go into them, but you need it too look good and be effective, doesn't help that steel has gone up 14% in 8 months either.
