Yes and no EB.... minerals in "chelated" form are motile and can be taken up regardless of pH...

That's the whole purpose of "chelated" minerals...

I use/have used the powdered Chelated iron..(3 times in just over 14months and only when leaves are yellowing). I sprinkle 2 teaspoons (1 each end) in each Grow bed right where a jet of water is coming out of the watering pipe....as then each teaspoon is getting mixed well by the time it gets swirled around the plants roots then down to the sump tank ...It is well and truely dissolved by the time it gets to the fish tank so that way the fish dont gobble the bigger particals ...within a couple of days the plants come back all lovely and green and I dont worry about it until the plants tell me they need it as all plants pinch different nutrients at different stages of growth so if you have a big range of all different plants then it usaully all balances out... Spinach sucks alot of Iron
I am still looking for something that can put back iron naturally(possibly grow spinach in the ground to suck it from there, then put the spinach leaves in the growbed for the worms to break down??

Snags,
I tried chelated iron - it did not work at all and I don't recommend.

Woops! I meant to say I tried molasses and it didn't work. I dissolved "rust-dust" in molasses and then applied it to the plants. Of course this wasn't very scientific, but it also showed absolutely 0 positive effects, so unless you don't have absolutely any access to chelated iron, or unless you are unusually scientifically curious and have the time and patience, I wouldn't bother with molasses-iron treatments.
