First harvest from system 3, there wasn't much worth picking in the other beds apart from herbs. Chililes are being demolished by what I guess are mice, lots of them are nothing but seeds, all of the red fruit has been eaten from around the seeds.

I might try putting some shell grit and a cap of seasol into each system, the capsicums are getting blossom end rot, a sign of calcium deficiency.

Also Systems 1 has thyme that isn't looking the best.

Blossom end rot gets tomatoes generally, but also capsicums and melons.

I'm pretty sure thats what this is, makes a mess of them..

We haven't done any DO readings, dissolved oxygen isn't really a problem, especially when the fish are so small, we might take some readings as the fish grow a bit bigger.

There is a big difference in the feed totals of the autosiphon and the other two systems, and for what ever reason this is, its probably the reason the growth in system 1 is behind the others.
Any reason why these fish havent been fed as much. Maybe just an unlucky batch of more sickly fish to start with, :dontknow:

All the fish in the three systems came from the same batch we had in a 2000L tank, so I don't know about any difference in them :dontknow: . The fish in system1 just haven't been as responsive to feed so it's been hard to keep it up at the same level of the others.

We've had 4-5 different people feeding them, over the past couple of months, and they feed as they would be feeding any of the other systems we have.. Although lately we have been specifically trying to get some more feed into system 1. :dontknow:

Need to perhaps pull some fish out, examine them and weigh them.. We'll keep trying to get more into system1 as well.

But the nitrate levels are quite adequate for the plants so I would guess it's not the lack of food going into system 1.

Some times it's hard to tell. Will just have to keep the trial running for a few seasons to see how it all shakes out in the end. :wave1:

In system 3 we threw away over half a dozen capsicums, they have been attacked by blossom end rot and caterpillars, probably should have tried picking them earlier to counter losses.
