Nope.....just stinking hot weather, had a mini lightning storm last night....was getting nervous due to no rain and loads of dry paddocks and bush, but nothing eventuated.

We had a cracker of a thunderstorm early this morning about 05:00... the first crack shock the house like an earthquake... and the thunder then rumbled and grumbled down the coast for a full minute... like a roaring freight train...

Woke everyone in town... and I mean every person I've talked to woke scared as hell...

Well we had 40mm of rain overnight. Not forcast and came from nowhere it seems. The mozzies were just starting to die down but this will fire them up again. Ross river fever is getting around every where

Oh yeah, just to let Rupe know that the yabbies are tasting good. They are even in the river in big numbers :wave1:

Crazy storm going on here at the moment, I don't know that I've seen the dark red over Perth before.. Very windy and almost continuous thunder ATM...

Hey EB,

The Bureau changed the radar and shifted it south a bit. The old radar was extremely conservative, remember that thunderstorm which hailed half of Perth last year, well the old radar only went to yellow for that freak storm.

This radar seems to be overly optomistic. A happy medium would be nice.

Cheers

In Bedfordale, we got over 20mm. The lightning started a bushfire but the Volunteer BFB got onto it and called in the Helitaks. It appears to be out now.

Regards,
Tony

Sad I am posting now, but my change got delayed as the power was only restored about 2 hours ago.

Ellenbrook got hit pretty bad - luckily I wasn't riding home when it hit.

There must be 50 plus tall pine trees down on one of the entry roads to Ellenbrook (Drumpellier Dr) - will try and get some photos on the way in tomorrow.
