Well i take it the block next door has been sold, as the new owner is clearing trees from it, the one day in 3 weeks i want to chill in my shadehouse and play AP all i have is the roar of a chainsaw and falling tree's! I stuck my head over the fence and said your lucky im over here planting things while your cutting them down... then we got to talking about gardens etc..... and i showed him through my AP system... he quite enjoys the concept!

Water temp of 25.5 today with a high of 37 yesterday and a low of 27 over night and backup to 39.7 today going to have late 30's til friday.

Silvers are very active, the new additions seem to have livened up the tank now, feeding very well.

plants are kicking along fine, starting to see more of these "banana peppers" and about 8 cherry toms a day, Romas are a bit slow, there would be 5kg of green fruit just needing to ripen and plenty of flowers and baby fruit still producing. had about 10 ripe so far.

got a few Zuchini's and the cucumbers seem to pop out too about 1 inch then die.... the plant is very scrawny so i'm guessing thats the issue. New Corn are growing by the inch per day very healthy looking and just powering, Herbs are kicking into gear, got oregano starting to bush up, parsley also, more basil than i could possibly ever need, and the mint basil got cut in half, a root haircut and i gave the other half to Mantis on the weekend. i give bunches of it away everyone loves it, iv got about 500grams dried in a jar and i still use as much as i need in everything. its such a nice herb.

Strawbs are flowering and setting fruit like mad, looking forward to stocking the freezer up with them as iv now got 10 plants in after they multiplied and i planted the runners. (first one off every plant in line)

4/5 beds running CF now just the strawb bed is flood drain but its only 60l and does it a lot. last time i counted it done it every 7 mins from empty to empty, has been a very good bed.

iv got the shade house open at 1 end at the moment so there is a breeze flowing in there and various bugs, spiders, dragonflies, great little eco system running in there :)

found this one on the trampoline pole last night.

System is plodding along nicely, been getting an abundance of tomatoes, strawberrys and fresh herbs, just planted a heap of new seeds, silverbeet is coming along nicly and also got some betroot and chard in.

netted out 25 silvers the other night to take to my display system, Wow they hey grown great to see them growing well.

No deaths of any silvers, feeding very well introduced some duck weed into the system and they love it it has brang them all up to the top to feed.

will get some photos up soon, have been so busy lately!!

Go easy with the fish in your display system, nothing worse than green water no one can see into.. Ahhh the temptation to keep feeding them to show everyone... :shifty:

I think we had 15 systems around the shop last count and boy it can be hard to keep them all looking good 7 days a week... :geek:

Got Some Photos of the Display System to share.

System Runs 15 on 30 off 3000LPH Pump and running beautifully.

We run a power meter on it today and worked out to be around $15 per quarter to run.

Stocked with 25 Silver perch ranging from 35mm to 110 mm salted tank to 2ppm on introduction of fish.

Ammo levels have been 0 on all tests and today showed a Nitrite spike in Mid/Low range, will keep an eye on it tomorrow.

Planted out with Straberrys, Marigold, Broccoli, Cauli's, Brussel Sprouts, Rainbow Chard, Silver beet, Beetroot, Mint Basil and some Spinach.

Have added some Chelated Iron and seasol and was originally filled with Rainwater.

Temps have been sitting around 16-22 C when im there to test is usually 4:30 at nights.

Have also added some duckweed that iv noticed the silvers have been snacking on.

:thumbright: Like the idea of putting the paperwork out there for people to read. People learn in different ways. Some by seeing, some by hearing, some by reading, some by doing.
There are people who won't ask questions (too scared of looking ignorant). These are the people that you help by putting the paperwork out there for them to read. If it peaks their interest enough, then the questions will start because they can ask with some sort of knowledge of the questions to ask. That make sense?
Nice setup.
And what do you mean by $15 a quarter for power? Quarter = 3 months?

In a display like that i would run mainely goldfish they look better and seeing they are in a public place they will have to contend with all sorts of things kids putting in stones sticks you will even get some di;'k head grown ups doing it to and if theres snale bate laying around or even nursery staff spraying
best to have that nice little display then lots of photos
