Lost a few catfish this morning. Noticed a lot of catfish on the bottom. Fished out about 6 dead ones. I did upset them a little last night. Netted some that had made there way into the floating tank. All the silvers are okay in the pool. The 300 silver fingerlings are also fine. Was thinking O2 or spray drift as the catfish would be the first to show any effects.
Put on the extra air(100ltr/min) and started a pump to splash the water around(10000/hr) also threw in 100kgs of salt. The test showed that the system has got rid of the 150kgs ish I had put in before. Tested the water. Am 0, Ni 0 Na trace Ph 7 ish.

Might have worked out the problem. The cod in the inside tank has been looking unwell for the last week. I salted his tank today as well. Both that tank and the pool have been topped up with town water. And I was told today that someone poured a cup of water from there tap and it was cloudy. The local water guys have been known to tip chlorine into the town water at junctions by the bag full.

Got caught like that once Duff.... buggers turned on a new piece of water main a day before they were meant to ... and dosed the supply that much it ran white for about 5 mins when I turned the tap on...

Why do all the water boards employ/attract dumb buggers. Ours is littered with them.
Example: Hey go pull the boards in the weir. But we havent told the farmers downstream. Doesnt matter, just do it
It goes on

I deal with one of the water boards supervisors through work, he came in the other day looking for a 100L container with a tap....I had to ask...why would you need one of those?
The reply was rather good, "We fill the drum with liquid chlorine, hook it into the main water line (Perth-Kal) then crack the tap and let the passing water suck it out", on further probing they needed 100L's because the workers were just tipping what ever they thought was right into the lines

I am very happy to have rainwater to top up my systems :) But that would be harder with a 40000L tank to top up

Allready ahead of you. Going to harvest all the large silvers and split the system up. Just working out what bit will go where. Pool may end up with goldfish and koi. I've had a 4500ltr tank sitting in the backyard for a while.

Feeding eggs to silvers. Hard to see the fish but you can see the egg disappear.
