Hey, not knocking on your creation, I have a feeling its going to work just fine by they way, but I felt bad about giving you a faulty description and sending you on a possible wild goose chase.

So I trolled through the forum and found you this!

Quite welcome Steve :D Do remember to document how well your design worked too.

Not exactly overwhelmed by my worm harvester, it does work but I have yet to find an irresistible bait to entice them in.
Have tried also a punnet tray bayed with bread slices, banana peels, (not lately, too expensive),
and bits and pieces of whatever at hand, the same as in the harvester but have found it easier just scoop two shovelfuls
from the top of the barrel, pick just what needed (only the biggest ones) and return back the rest.

Picking heaps of cucumbers and some toms but nothing flashy.

Aw come on SS... everything always looks pretty flashy in your system...

Talky of "flashy" things... what's with the CD/DVD thingies... and does it work?

Must agree, they are flashy, and they do work, well, sort off.
They do keep the birds away, but totally hopeless against blasted caterpillars and aphids.

Had some eggplants in but preferred to pull them out, the same those in the dirt.
The mini Lebanese outside in the dirt were doing much better, with minimal aphids infestation so I kept those.

Changed my drum worm farm for a new, user friendlier design.

I've found that since putting in a light to attract the insects to the water :shark: there is a big drop in sap suckers etc on the plants.

Interesting thought Duff, that the sapsuckers might be flying around during the night, and thats a great time to turn them into fish feed.

Was even thinking of using lights above a standpipe in the gb's. Have the insects flushed back into the FT.

Good one Dufflight, thanks, hanged up a “nightlight” above one FT, close to the water.

The GBs look rather desolate after puling out the cuc vines and some other plants well past their best.
Hopefully the next lot will start growing before the toms will have to go out as well.

Had to put some shell grit in the GBs.
With all the rain we had last few weeks the water PH dropped down to around 6.
Collected a good bucket full of seashells maybe a year ago so some of them (well washed) went in the GBs as well.

The redesigned Worm Farm barrel is much easier to manage, to harvest worms from.
Throwing about a handful of worms into each FT once or twice a week to spice the fish menu.

Hey SS, sorry for not reading your thread up to now, for some reason I thought SS meant stainless steel. :dontknow: LOL Anyway back in the day you mentioned using cilantro for chimichuri, and I have some parsley and cilantro to use up somehow and I'm going to try that today with fajitas. Love your thread, so much useful info in it and your plant pictures are an inspiration!

With the forum being so enormous now, I wonder how the admin. / moderators do keep track of everything on it.
Or do they?
