Just been chatting with Jamey and we both could have kept trout up till now as our tanks havent gone over 24. I would love to get some but havent got a tank to put them in.

I wouldn't... BOM modelling...

Quote:
The chance that the average February to April maximum temperature will exceed the long-term median maximum temperature is between 60% and 80% across all of Tasmania, Victoria, southern New South Wales and southern South Australia (see map). This means that for every ten years with ocean patterns like the ones currently observed, about six to eight February to April periods would be expected to be warmer than average in these areas, with about two to four being cooler.

The BOM prediction is based on recent sea temps... where the Indian Ocean warms, while the tropical Pacific cools... (it's been the reverse so far this year)....

Quite a normal pattern for the time of year... but it could also indicate a rapid decline of La Nina...

From past experience we can still get a string of hot days in feb. Remember the Black Saturday weekend.
For the sake of a couple of weeks wouldn't it be less stressful to wait.

Eat your yabbies, put the 1000L Sump in ya hothouse, put the 500L tank as a sump on the big system.

Have the jades and Silvers in the hothouse and trout in the shade house :)
