Yeah, like trying to have a discussion with a brick wall... An angry, prejudiced brick wall... Just gotta bite your tongue and try to ignore it. I've been doing that for years now, I know it isn't easy....

I have no time for people who slander others, particularly on the computer or internet. i think its P11$$weak.

Stand by your data, your knowledge and above all your professional opinion. I'll always vouch for it, cos it got me out of a few near -misses :)

+1....oh and that was a good read freoboy :D

just thinking about it, aslog as DO levels are high enough i dont think that trout would suffer too much from the heat. because they are cold blooded, i think they are similar to frogs? and if you put a frog into boiling water, it goes 'ouch' and jumps out. put it into cold water, and heat it up (sound familiar) and it doesn't feel anything?

thoughts?
sorry for the hijack rupe

Now considering that any time heating or cooling is ever mentioned, you're the first to say.. go with a suitable species...

They must be desperate to stir some interest... a quick look shows virtually nobodies posted for about a week... and this is all pretty normal when the irrelevant boredom kicks in..

Perhaps it's all a pre-cursor to a "Crusty & Side-show Bob" aquaponic venture...

Next thing with all the byap people going over for a look you will see [the most looked at forum on fish]

Some people see what they want to see or just want to push their agenda, kind of sad really but unfortunately very common. It's hard to watch when you know that truth has taken a back seat and something else is at the wheel.

My advise is just put these guys into the dematerializer or show them the door to the airlock! :thumbright:

The problem with arguing with idiots is that you need to stoop to their level and then they beat you with experience....

chin up Rup

Sounds like a case of sour grapes and jelousy to me.

How someone can ban an individual from an internet forum for having a difference of opinion, with out them being obnoxious or down right offensive, is beyond me and points to small minded self-rightiousness.

The client fish deaths were of a fairly low number and I am sure most AP enthusiest would have experienced similar losses, also they do not seem to be due to your actions at all and it would appear that a lot of thought and consideration were put into the system setup.

Your own losses Rupe were more significant but, having followed your system thread, I can see that they were mostly due to what would in the insurance business be termed "acts of god" (or godess) and not neglect or poor management.

To the knockers on the other forum; guess what? fish can't breath air and they do die, as most of us have experienced, so long as the deaths were not due to deliberate actions or negligence then the APer cannot be blamed. Get down off your high horse and at least have the guts to confront the individial in question out right in a medium where the right of reply has not been removed by yourselves.

:support: Just remember Rupe opinions are like anuses, everyone has one, no ones is really any better then the next and they are generally full of feaces :bootyshake: , just like the guys attacking you on the other forum. Keep your chin up mate :thumbright:

Hi everyone,

I'm quite supportive of Crusty as I am Rupe they both, and others, have taught me as a newb and now adolecent in AP a lot and I thank them for that.

I have just posted a post on HQ I can't remember the exact words but basically saying I thought the thread and some posts were worded personally and it ought not as it takes away from the topic we want to talk about. and I've suggested they do a poll about the topic. I think they should veer away from the personal aspect now. I suggest we resist being personal back in retaliation.

You can jump all over me folks, if you want, but them's my thoughts.

Cheers.

Oh boy, how many times have I wandered down this road over the past few years.. I'm not a religious person, but I think the biblical answer is the only real path to success here. And no I'm not talking an eye for an eye. You really just have to turn the other cheek.

Unfortunately as a few people have already said, it's a "personal thing" over there. It always has been, and seems like it always will be. Gotta try and keep things above that level and just get on with it... A recent post over there is peppered liberally with provocative remarks and personal ridicule, it's a bit like being back in the school yard. "Come on mate, come over here, I dare ya, you just can't hack it."

Ahhh, And I'd promised myself a while back that I wouldn't go over there... It's a bit like seeing an accident on the highway, you can't help but turn your head and look on the way past. My advice would be to try and ignore it Rupe, I know that's not so easy but what other choice do you really have?

Not much truth in that statement and I will suggest plenty of made up "stuff" in the following paragraphs.

Crusty...
