Some big news to report today, just signed a 1 year rental agreement on a house with 1600sq.m of land :D

Very exciting, especially as there is a river running through the property, pics to follow in the next couple of weeks :)

Some pics of the house, land and river.
Electricity connected, land around the house raised.
Bore pump and filter connected some time next week.
Almost ready to move in.

No actual plans for a new AP system yet, but thinking about multiple IBC's for tanks and really not sure about GB's yet.
It's a rental, so don't want anything too permanent, initial lease is for a year.

Very nice house, looks new. I like the river in the back yard. Any chance of flooding? You might be able to grow fish in cages in the river (saves on plumbing). Or at least have a large source of cheap water. Although pollution could be an isssue.

Aye the house is brand new.
This area is very flat around the city and surrounded on 2 sides by mountains, very prone to flooding in the monsoon season.
Having had an ST fill with flood water in Surin, I will be mindful of that when working out where to put stuff.
Many people grow fish in cages downstream on this river, I might look into that commercially, but fresh fish sells for little more than the food costs, hard to make a fortune.
Also hard to tell with the pollution issue, this river comes through a non-industrial area, but through many acres of farmland.
The locals fish it, but then they would eat almost anything, would probably be an extra delicacy if it glowed in the dark :D

Sounds like the river is clean enough. If you could get a couple of plastic barrels, seal the openings, and use them as floats. Strap them to a couple of boards on one side and you have yourself a dock to attach your fish cage. May be an easy way to get started with some fish for your AP system. I don't think anyone can get rich growing fish. Fish are a commodity. But if you grow enough you can make a comfortable living :)

After a very long time away from AP'ing I am starting to rebuild my system.
We had a Makro here for 2 days dredging the river by the house.
They filled most of the land with the slop from the river, hopefully this stuff should be very good to grow veggies in :)
I took the opportunity to get him to dig me a 5000 litre sump hole, scope for some serious expansion next year.
Hopefully this will help to even out the water temp fluctuations I was seeing this time last year.

Some pics...

Hi Dui
Welcome back to the forum.
I think the plastic liner will be leaked very soon.
You can use the concrete block construct tank like I did.

Chock Dee

Thanks guys :)

Ao..
I don't think a few leaks will be a problem, it's 5000+ litres and the Fish Tanks are only 520 combined.
This is not my house so I don't want to be building big concrete tanks at the moment.
I'll live with the plastic liner and see how I get on.
