Yeah... I've been watching that system for days....

Really unusual the way it tracked down the coast so far south... rather than making landfall or dissapating out to sea...

In fact BOM is forecasting it to track further south before turning and making landfall... over Perth....

Albeit.. downgraded to a Cat 1...

Are you human?: After midday.
Location: West Australia
Last one was 1978, Alby. Did almost the same thing.

Sort of funny the last few weeks the local newspapers have been scaremongering with pictures of how Bunbury and suburbs could be flooded under heavy rain.
We could just find out out how accurate they were now.

Hey Nash,

You survive that?

I just spoke to my brother who was driving past your place when it hit, he said his Pajero got push to the wrong side of the road with the initial gust, and the commodore behind him was pushed even further.

Then he told me about all the trees which had been blown over the highway.

In Bassandean I got 18mm, but very little wind.

Cheers

Wazza

been in Northam today for my grandmothers 80th.. biggest dust storm i have ever seen sky went red then was almost like midnight

cause then the power went out and it was dark inside too and verry hot 40 + people inside a house gets hot and sticky verry quickly without the ac, though after the front passed and the rain eased we opened up the house and even sat outside which was nice

the aftermath was quite amazing too town hall among others seems to have lost its roof lots of trees blown over on the hwy between northam and clackline but after that was smooth driving
sure has been an intersting day
Cheers

While Cyclone Anthony migth make landfall around Townsville.. it's not an overly large/wide cyclone... and is expected to dissapate quickly...

Of much greater concern.... is a likely major cyclone formation from a tropical depression currently situated near Fiji...

Watch this one.. it could be a nasty one...

I was saying to Faye just after the big floods over there that I hope people weren't putting too much effort into cleaning up, with the next couple of months predicted to be very wet over that way..

That cyclone doesn;t look very nice...
