I got mine 50mm dia from Murrays place and then connected them with a standard 50mm pool pump flexible hose fitting. Works a bloody dream, don't risk it.

Good luck Wal

one of these one end

and the faucet adaptor on the other.

edit (the cat 2 and 3 ones fit inside another fitting), the cat 15 and 17 ones fit over pipe) make sure you grab the right ones

Better off using these... http://www.wetearth.com.au/Product/Prod ... ductID=199

They screw straight on (faucet end)... and have a slip (socket) that you slide the 50mm pressure pipe into...

If you go to an irrigation shop (and some pool or landscaping shops)... you can get a similar BSP "bulkhead" fitting made by "Hanson"... and they have a screw in screen for the tank inside end... stops the fish getting in...

Pressure pipe "slips" into the socket end...

Faucet end screws onto the long thread of the BSP Baulkhead fitting...
BSP Screen screws into the threaded (inside tank) end of the BSP Baulkhead fitting...

And here's the final result...

I have had some of those in use for 4 years with no leakage problem

i used 40mm Versions in my sumps, in my FT, and 25mm versions in my growbeds.

i trace the outside of the thread onto the surface where i need the hole, zip it out with a jigsaw so its perfect size to actually thread the hole as you screw it in, small bead of silicone on both sides and tigten up, never had a leak or an issue and they are cheap as. 40mm version works out about $6 all up and 25mm version $3.50 all up, never used a gasket either and have put them in the sides of barrels that are round, IBC's.

i agree that Tank Fittings are too expensive for what they are.
