The only way I got my trout out was to flood the growbeds and empty as much of the water into other containers as possible....

Other than that, what about bird netting made into a dragnet?

I used a birdnet drag in that way. I used straight poles but still found the trout found the gaps around the sides. I bent the poles twice, once to extend the net evenly out to the sides of the tank, once to ad a ski jump at the bottom which scars the fish back into the main part of the net. Worked a treat and i caught the petrified trout that got away with stright pole dragging numerous times after one go.

Not necessarily... you're running a few trout (10)...in 2500L of water... with water return from the grow beds providing oxygenation... at temps that might be stressful... but not fatal...

Most people would be stocking 50-70 fish... or more... in a tank that size... and THAT would be a different story....

Well just had a week in Albany, King River to be exact, only rained for 2 days out of 7 but saw more rain in those 2 days than I did all last year :dontknow:
Got home on Saturday to the wildest storm I have ever seen, I liken it to a cyclone (I have been in cyclones, yes) we only got 11mm of rain but winds up to 150kmh, our bowling club was destroyed and 5 houses deroofed near me, mega damage done to houses and cars from falling trees and farms have lost many sheds.
We were lucky really but plants in grow beds are a mess and we lost a couple of smaller trees and most of our fruit on trees, Rick also said his GB's are a mess. You can see some pics here and my story http://www.waweathergroup.com/forum/vie ... =34&t=1227 pics were taken in 1 minute roughly, all the time I had
As for the trout making it through..........whilst we were away the temps were over 40 a couple of times and water was at 25.5c when I got back and trout were sleeping, one survived for a couple of days and I netted 2 others and lost 7
Silvers are doing great, can't stop them eating, they must shit a lot as they are not growing as fast as they eat but they are growing

Hey Nocky - hope you're well

Yeah, the SPs love this heat and eat shiploads. Make the most of it as they certainly slow down over the winter.

Glad to hear the storm didn't do you any damage.

You're most welcome to call in anytime (with or without fish) we're 1/2 way to Busso from Marg's.

Hope all goes well with the shift and settling in
