Aaah what an impressive array of photos from enthusiasts from all around the world. For some of you, I bet 12 months ago if I told you that you would be taking photos of slugs, you probably would have told me that I was crazy. :D My, how times change!
Beth's slug photos, what can I say "Love it".
There are a few of bees bums, mmm not sure about those. Bullwinkle's fly on duckweed with the clarity of wing veins. Amazing :) as well as the landscape in a barrel.
Frogs from Dui Nui, Wazza and C1, they are posers are't they? , Embi's sunflower with its rainbow of colours. Kitioke and the exposure of the water fountain, would love to know how to do that
Mikem and the hoverfly larva attacking the aphid, Aaaah drewl!
Kudapucats bug porn, very educational and just goes to show how much is out there that people miss. The different bugs and their variance from state to state and country to country. Where are ll the fish photos.
Did any one notice the contrast of colour and texture in the corn photos, amazing detail and good "depth of field". :thumbleft:
So who wants to kick off this years photo competition, perhaps someone could enter a fish or vegetable- that would be novel!!! Well done everyone :thumbright:

What awesome photos. What great things you guys share with us all. Thank you.

I really enjoyed them all and thought about it all day before I could fully decide how I could possibly only vote for one, but in the end I couldn't resist the tomatoes.
But I think I am a bit of a sucker for hairy plants. :flower:

Wazza your frog, uh, I think that was a frog, is well awesome. I think you should send its photos to WETA Workshop, it will be a star in no time.

Thanks again for sharing them.

Thanks Beth,

It's actually a Gecko, I had to lay flat on the ground to get it. You can see from the depth of field the rear legs are further back.

I would pick the gecko as my favorite phote (I love lizards) but I have voted for C1's frog, still a great pic but you can see the hydroton and you could almost tell that it's an AP system - I think in an AP photo comp you should be able to tell that it's actually AP and not just any animal or plant shot no matter how good (that's just my opinion)
Well done everyone

 Forgive me for I feel really silly, but I have a confession. I don't know why but I thought Wazza's gecko was a frog??? I just didn't know that geckos were anything other than grey. My humblest apologies!!!

There seems to be a little confusion about my little Gecko, so here is a more conventional pic which should clear things up.

For the record, it's called a Barking gecko, and they do make a 'barking' type niose. I know they are native to the wheatbelt, I am not sure where else however. They are also quite small.

Cheers

Wazza
