Congratulations Decal - amazing what you've managed to grow in your system! When did you plant it? It's a little pink, possibly a potassium deficiency?

Thank you all for your kind messages! So far she has been an angle, but think this maybe a russe? Once we think we have it sorted the real tests will begin.

At the moment it doesn't matter how much screams she's beautiful :flower:

We could just do with some more sleep.

This thread will return to normal prgraming shortly :D

Thanks Faye,
If normal is not having her in my life think I will take chaos every time!

As for sleep it's been years since I have a row of good sleeps due to my work. As long as I can get a 3hr sleep I can function, just.

This thread is returning to normal programming (well as much as normal can be now!)

With the coming of the new bub I was given permission to by a HD video camera, so here is the 1st up-date for the new camera.

Also did a water test the other day 1st one in weeks.

Ammonia 0
PH 8.0
Nitrite 0

Water temps are now 22˚C at night and around 24˚C during the day, with the Sp's hitting the food as soon as I drop it in. When the water is below 20˚C they only seem to come up when it's right above them. When it's warmer they come looking for it.

Will add some more Iron Chelates today as it's been over a month since the last scoop went in and the system is looking so much better for it.

The PH is still on the high side but everything is growing and the fish are feeding, it will sort it's self out.

Thank you for all your wonderful posts on the arrival of our beautiful daughter.

She is being very patient  with us while we are learning to be parents!

Have just added some more plants to the system. Bought a punnet with 2 cabbages, broccoli and cauliflowers also a punnet if spring onions, mixed lettuce and a couple of zucchini plants.

Also did a water test Ammonia 0 - .25, Nitrite 0 - .25 and PH 7.4

Did a water test last week but with higher readings, nitrate at .25 - .5, I had been feeding quiet heavily as the water temps are up around 22 to 24 degrees. Also the PH had come back to 7.4. So I stopped feeding for a day and everything back including the PH back up to almost 8.0.

I think have the right feed ratio now with just a trace of ammonia and nitrite which is helping to keep the PH down.

Add a cap full of Iron Chelates last week with a cap of charlie carp.

Have been eating lettuce and beet root out of the AP garden which has been great! Have a couple of tomatoes growing along with a capsicum and some chilli's!

Really happy how it's all coming along. Starting to think about building a another small system to grow some trout over winter and act as a fingerling/hospital tank.
