Even Brisbane is up around 450mm for December. My backyard is like a muddy swimming pool. I hope it starts drying out soon.

I hadn't been keeping up with the weather downunder until this morning's headline. "Australian Flood area larger than France-Germany combined 200,000 being evacuated"
Wow, sorry to hear you guys get so much rain all at once after so many dry years. Really hard on the farmers and washes away so much land nutriants not to mention all the personal losses caused by flooding. Crazy weather all over the world, has been all year. Prayers for you guys and best wishes for the new year!
Bill.

We have been Flooded in here(isolated) for a few days, bridge broken and a few are still under water heading south to Bundaberg I think the road just opened North to Gladstone today.
Trapped tourist have been ferried out by boats and small planes.
Local Paper says Gladstone KFC has no chicken lol
Roads are stuffed, washed away and potholed so you don't really want to go out if you don't have to.
Dry in town though and at my place, the Bruce highway is open, so trucks will be able to get food up.
Wouldn't want to be in Bundy,Rocky or Emerald.

How are you guys (and gals) doing in QLD at the moment? I was watching things unfold last night, then watching again this morning for a couple of hours, absolutely shocking over there...

Brace yourself Brissie........

You guys get these amazing floods while we still have drought, heatwaves and now fires over here...

For those in other countries, or those that may have missed whats been happening over the past 24-48 hours check out the following video. See 2 minutes into the video the incredibly lucky guy holding onto the tree when a Van smashes into it, a few minutes later they show you him being rescued, man he should buy a lotto ticket.. Quite unbelievable scenes considering this is a main street of a major town.

Latest report I heard this morning was 8 confirmed dead and 72 people missing... :(

And this is only the beginning.... Hope everyone from here is safe and well..

Our Family Farm the other side of Merredin got 72mm last week. Nothing by QLD proportions though.

The property has a fresh water lake, it was on the verge of drying up for the first time in living memory, now it almost broke it's banks.

A couple of fences also got flattened, but no real damage apart from that.

Good news is, Yabbies Yabbies Yabbies. When the lake gets big like this, there are 1000's of Yabbies. Next time I will be up there will probably be easter, who kows, if there are as many as I think there will be, I could possibly bring some down for people's AP systems. Will let you know closer to the time.

Cheers
Wazza

I just can't watch the flood reports without a box of tissues, absolutely devastating. We have nothing to complain about over here compared to what others around the country and world are experiencing. Our thought are with you all :(
