Hi All

I seem to be having a bit of a problem with my fish of late. 1 died last week and then in the last couple of days the rest of my Jades have started loosing scales and getting spots.

The Red dots seem to puff up in the water like the bottom picture.

I have done approx 1 third water change and added salt.
Does this look like Ich. If so how long does it take to clear up.... or what recommendations would people give?

Any help appreciated.

Don't think it's "Ich".... which shows as small white dots/pimples...

Looks more like "Red Spot".... which is not good news....

Known disease in Silver Perch and Barramundi... but couldn't find anything specific about Jade Perch...

Fungal disease... often triggered by acid rain/high rainfalls....and sibsequently declining water quality (low salinity, low pH, high organic load)...

http://www.dpi.nsw.gov.au/__data/assets ... Manual.pdf

(see page 40 in the above link)

and...

http://library.enaca.org/Health/FieldGu ... ndrome.pdf

Known to cause mass mortalities... suggested treatments are "formalin"... bit beyond the average AP'er...

Or 10ppt salt baths.... see the first link page 41...

Thanks RupertofOZ,
Does not look too good for us.... We've had some stinking hot days and rainfall that is measured in meters up here.
Thanks for the info and the resources.
