Well I think I have been talking about it for a while now.

Now it is finally installed... I have Gone Solar. Well not totally, still need more panels in
the day to offset my power consumption and grid power in the night...

12x 190W Suntech panels totalling 2.28kW
1x 5kW SMA SunnyBoy Inverter (so I can upgrade by adding more panels)

Installed 9 Dec 2010.

Generated 17.14kWh yesterday (10 Dec 2010)...

Hope this helps...

How long does it take in WA to have the whole thing sorted so they start measuring your export to the grid? Its taken us about 2 months.

It is great having the solar. Its going to help a lot.

High... 42 units a day... but there is now an incentive to use less power during the day since I get paid for exporting power...

Hi Embi - which supplier in Vic are you with that it took 2 months to get grid connection sorted? We had similar experience in Mitcham for our 2Kw system - AGL.
Best our system has produced was 12Kwh back on 28th October.
Regards - ColinW

Approx. $7500.

For those still considering or on the fence, solar credits multiplier reduces from 5 to 4 in July 2011. This has been brought forward by one year. Effectively increasing your out-of-pocket by about $1200. So thinking Solar, get it installed before 1st July 2011. But don't leave it too late. Typical timing from signing offer to installation is about 2-3 months, and I would expect the months leading up to July 2011 would be very busy for Solar PV installers.

Hi Ivan - we must have been very lucky - we signed on Sept 14 - system installed and completed on 21st Sept. The delay we had was with AGL getting onto Grid.
Best wishes - ColinW
