Oh Crap Rup :upset: With all the hard work you put into your system and into helping others,Santa needs a good kick in the southern end of his bright red pants :bootyshake: for delivering such bad news at this time of year. On the bright side congrats to your son for graduating. And we all know that AP2011 will be superb.

Yeah it's a bugger... but as I said.... a complete redesign was intended over the Xmas break anyway....

I would have had to cull down the stock before March, and the new fingerlings...

Guess I've just got more time to do things properly now..... and knowing me... that's a good thing... :laughing3:

Wow that's a huge bummer. One of the hardest thing about being a farmer is losing your whole crop. Stuff like this will inevitably happen. Just redesign and move forward.

Are you going to eat any of them anyway? (you mentioned smoking)

You guys have AP insurance in australia? what kind of coverage does it have?

Hey Rupe, sorry to hear about your loss. But congrats on your sons achievement, you must be one proud dad. You know at the end of the day thats kinda what life is all about. We learn lessons and move on. You know what they say "There's plenty more fish in the sea "hehehe
Actually that may not be so true in the future. :dontknow: Onwards and upwards.

Wow thats is a crap outcome Rupe. This weather is giving a lot of people greif. The farmers around here were looking at record breaking crops and now IF they can get anything off them it will only be feed grade if that.

Dumped 200+kg of smelly fish at the tip this morning... and began pulling down the shade structure and emptying the tank...

The tank was remarkedly clean, other than a small amount of "sandy" sedimentation and some shell remnants...

Even the air stones were clean...

Even the media in the Bakki was pretty clean.... other than some bio-film buildup...

Not bad considering the tank has been running 300+kg of fish for nearly two years...

And just to clarify... the Silver Perch in the photos...were just "odds & sods" that had been thrown in the trout tank over time...

The main Silver Perch tank was unaffected... and still going strong...
